Leading manufacturer of window treatments, Hunter Douglas, announced that its wireless operating system, PowerView Motorization, is now compatible with Apple HomeKit.
Through this new integration, users will have complete control over their window treatments via the Apple Home app, by asking Siri, or through an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac or HomePod. Homeowners can pre-program shade positions, called Scenes, to optimize the amount of sun that peaks through over the course of the day. These capabilities provide privacy when needed and allow for natural light and heat to be let in during the day.
Scenes can also be personalized with voice commands like “movie time” or “good morning” and activated through Siri or Apple devices, in addition to the PowerView app and remote control. The motorized window treatments will then adjust their height to open/close or raise/lower to the ideal position.
Apple HomeKit joins several other smart home systems available in Hunter Douglas products including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Control4, Savant, and Nest.
