Canvas just released what they claim to be the “world’s first hi-fi ‘Audiostand’ for LG OLED TVs.” The soundbar-stand hybrid boasts real 3D audio and true Hi-Fi with a stereo image of 10-12 feet. Available in a range of vibrant colors, the Audiostand sits flush underneath the TV for a space-saving, dual-purpose sound system. The faceplate is also removable so you can swap out the Audiostand as your home’s aesthetic evolves.
Weighing in at 40 pounds, the 3.5ft-wide Canvas features two High End SB Acoustics long excursion 6” drivers, and two ring radiator drivers with non-resonant rear chambers as tweeters to achieve perfect audio fidelity. Additional specs include 4 channel HiFi, combined 200 Watt RMS, and a 30 Hz – 20,000 Hz. The cabinet holds 30 liters of bass reflex so adding a subwoofer won’t be necessary.
Users can optimize the sound of their Audiostand based on the size and shape of the room via the Canvas app. Canvas can connect to AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, Toslink and HDMI for an array of listening options.
Initially, Canvas will only be compatible with LG’s OLED B and C-series TVs from 2016 to 2019. The Canvas Audiostand does not support the curved C-series 2016 model or any of LG’s higher-end OLED options.
Those interested in getting in on the action can reserve their Canvas for a super early bird rate of $999 for the 55-inch model, or $1,099 for the 65-inch. The Copenhagen, Denmark-based company is officially launching a crowdfunding campaign in October to raise more funds for the Audiostand.
