Home Entertainment Source (HES) Executive Vice President Jim Ristow has announced that HES and PRO Group will merge into one large group, to be named ProSource, effective January 1, 2011.

By bringing the members of the two organizations together, ProSource will represent $3.6 billion in annual sales, making it the largest specialty segment and CE merchandising group in the U.S.. ProSource will aim to help independent retailers and integrators compete with big box stores.

HES and PRO Group have already been allies for two years, allowing opportunities for collaboration with mutual vendor partners. By operating under the new ProSource umbrella, HES and PRO Group believe they will give independent retail an even stronger voice.
