The Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA), an organization that represents national retail and custom integrators, announced the addition of prominent California integrator AudioVisions. Based in Lake Forest, AudioVisions has four locations throughout the state and is one of the industry’s best-known and most-respected integrators, according to HTSA.

Robbins recently replaced former Managing Director Bob Hana who left the group to focus on a private charity that he separately founded.

AudioVisions, when asked about their decision to join HTSA, cited the addition of Robbins on top of the recently announced new Board of Directors.

“First and foremost, what attracted us to HTSA was the quality of their members,” Mark Hoffenberg, co-founder of AudioVisions, said in a statement. “We desire to work collaboratively with the best companies and the brightest leaders in the industry, and many of them are in HTSA. But equally important, we believe that HTSA is in the midst of a powerful resurgence and we wanted to be a part of that.”

Launched in 1989 by cofounders Hoffenberg and Bob Walpert, AudioVisions went on to become the “quintessential integrator’s integrator,” creating various business systems and processes that they said influenced the then-nascent custom integration industry. The company also created integration-specific software that was ultimately adopted by a significant percentage of custom installers and integrators.

In 2005, AudioVisions was acquired by Best Buy and run as a separate entity. Hoffenberg remained on as the group’s president, running the day-to-day operations, while also serving as a vice president within the ranks of Best Buy’s Services organization. In 2014, the AudioVisions management team reacquired the company and now operates as a wholly-owned, independent integration business.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome AudioVisions into the HTSA family,” HTSA’s Robbins said in the statement. “Mark and his team have a high standard of professionalism and like all HTSA members are able to effortlessly step customers up to high-performance products. HTSA is strengthened by the addition of AudioVisions – as AudioVisions will be strengthened by participating in the sharing of best practices with other HTSA members.”
