The Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) have hired Jon Robbins, who helped found the buying group 20 years ago, as the new managing director of the organization. In the role, Robbins will spearhead the organization’s membership and vendor engagement efforts. He will work alongside Bob Hana, whose work in operations and marketing for HTSA will continue—Hana will be devoting more time to his personal mission of supporting children with special needs and their families through a new nonprofit that he is launching.
Robbins, who is renowned for his years as a CEDIA integrator, was most recently enterprise sales manager for Netsertive, an Internet-services firm for the custom integration industry. Robbins will be able to leverage his long list of connections and years of experience to focus on the day-to-day interactions between HTSA integrator members and vendor partners, HTSA said.
“As a founding member of HTSA, it is an honor to be re-joining this thriving community in a leadership role,” Robbins said in a statement. “I am looking forward to working closely with colleagues both past and present within the HTSA membership and hope to build on the model of success that Bob and his team have forged for this group over the past few decades.”
And though he will be scaling back his involvement in the organization as he begins to pursue and fulfill a personal mission, Hana will continue to be involved in the work of HTSA.
“I’m proud of HTSA’s accomplishments and know Jon will ensure we remain the industry’s premier member-owned buying group and I pledge to do my part to support those efforts,” Hana said in the statement. “I am grateful to have the opportunity this point in my career be able to undertake a new venture and launch the non-profit organization We Grow Up Too. Our mission is to assist the families of children with physical and mental disabilities and provide them with lifelong care as they move into adulthood.”
The HTSA team will continue to operate as usual out of its Chicago offices.
