The U.K.-based home audio system manufacturer Meridian Audio announced that it will be in Dallas next week for the 2015 CEDIA Expo, taking place in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center October 14-17. Meridian is bringing with it a newly-designed booth (#5310) that it said is built to “showcase their CI market focus.”
Among the highlights that the company singled out for this year are the Meridian Sooloos system for streaming audio, the new DSP320 Ceiling/In-Wall Loudspeakers, and its new Design and Specification Service.
The Meridian Sooloos system is the company’s “most flexible, highest performance, and cost effective offering,” Meridian said in a statement. The Sooloos offers flexible storage by supporting third-party NAS device, and it includes new control options via redesigned iPad and iPhone clients, and TouchPC. All of this will be available through free software updates, Meridian explained. And it plans to highlight the system’s integration with third party control systems like Control4 and Crestron.
The new Meridian DSP320 Ceiling/In-Wall Loudspeakers are the latest addition to the company’s loudspeaker lineup. The speakers measure just 4” deep and are engineered for “wide dispersion over the maximum listening area,” Meridian explained. “The unique design offers an incredibly authentic sound, and the onboard Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology means that the image height can be lowered, creating a wide stereo image,” the company explained in its statement. And by placing all of the electronics inside the enclosure, the loudspeakers eliminate the need for amplification in the equipment rack, thus “saving space, which also reduces the requirement for power and thermal management within the rack,” Meridian said.
Lastly, Meridian will discuss its new Design and Specification Service, a complimentary service for current Meridian dealers that is designed to help them provide accurate and customized audio-visual system designs. It includes two-channel, multi-channel, and multi-room system designs for home or marine environment. The service is designed to “foster synergy between Meridian and its dealer by providing enhanced audio/visual sales tools, allowing the dealer to focus on other aspects of installation,” Meridian said.
Meridian also announced that Bob Stuart, the company’s cofounder, will be the recipient of CEDIA’s 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be presented during CEDIA Expo.
