Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) has released a driver for the DISH Hopper DVR. The addition, RTI said, gives integrators an entertainment option for clients interested in diving into home automation with the company.

“The feature-rich Hopper entertainment platform is the perfect addition to RTI’s powerful home automation system,” Frank DeFilippis, DISH manager of channel programs, said in a statement. “This integration will allow RTI dealers to deploy reliable control of our award-winning entertainment technology, including our upcoming 4K Joey, while delivering a great customer experience.”

The RTI DISH Hopper driver utilizes control via IP for seamless integration with the RTI automation system, RTI explained. Built-in auto-discovery tools will search the network for receivers, which also speeds up the installation process for integrators. In the end, the system gives users control over their in-home entertainment as well as other in-home settings like lighting, temperature, and security systems, all from the RTI interface.

“We worked closely with the DISH team to develop this new driver, further expanding the integration capabilities for our dealer community while giving users an incredible entertainment experience,” Brett Stokke, RTI director of communications, said in the statement.

RTI is making the DISH Hopper DVR two-way driver available at no cost to RTI dealers through the company’s website.
