CEDIA has tapped Google as host for the keynote at the 2020 CEDIA Technology & Business Summits this year in the U.S. and Canada. As an added value, the first 40 attendees at the Tech Summit keynote in the 14 scheduled markets will receive a Google Nest Mini.

Keynoter Adeel Tufail, Google’s national account manager, will focus in her talk on creating a home that is helpful, contextual, and accessible.

“Google has an exciting vision for what the future of home technology could look like, and how technology in the home will ultimately take care of the people in it,” said Giles Sutton, CEDIA senior VP, Industry Engagement. “They’re a great fit for the Tech Summit audience, and attendees will get a lot out of what they have to share.”

Tech Summit attendees will also have an opportunity to take a newly developed two-part course on cybersecurity. The first session will help attendees identity threats and opportunities to protect client systems. The second session will focus on assessing risk and identifying policies from the technical side.

“We based this course development on consistent member feedback,” said Samantha Ventura, CEDIA VP, Education & Training. “Everyone is very concerned about the topic of cybersecurity, and while CEDIA offers robust training on building the home network, we found that our members needed further resources to help them approach it from a business perspective.”
